Another 3 hour session - Isla Baits blog

The other night I managed to squeeze in a very short 3 hour session on the day ticket gravel pit due to fish at the syndicate still spawning.

I turned up and scanned the water, also asking a few anglers nearby if they'd had anything. Surprisingly they hadn't had anything other than a few bream all day! Not long after I heard a splash and see large ripples coming out of an overhanging tree in a swim away from all of the commotion, so I quickly got the gear sorted and flicked a signature bottom bait tipped with fluorescent pink corn and a bag of signature chops and pellet as far under the tree as possible and managed to get it about 2 foot off of the bank.

An hour later I had a stuttering drop back take as the fish had no where to run other than back towards me.

I wound down for what seemed like forever until I made contact with an angry fish that started taking line and kiting out towards the middle of the lake. It put up a good scrap but I netted the fish safely and it weighed in at 14 lb. Not bad for a very short evening session!

I did later get a few fish feeding on top with mixers but the tufties soon put an end to that!

I find due to me only managing short sessions, a well presented small pile of quality bait in the right areas is essential, being mobile with roaming rods on busy day ticket waters is enough to tempt quick bites.

All the best,

Brad.

Lancashire team catch report - 22 April 2015

After a hard day session at Bradshaw hall fishery Bolton I'm glad to say I caught this stunning 14lb mirror carp on the Isla signature range. I baited my area with half a kilo of Signature and within half an hour I could see signs of fish in my area and it wasn’t long before there was a bend in my rod. I came away with the only fish caught that day across the lake ... Isla Signature....get on it!!

Woods Lake in France with some Scottish Carp Group members

On a recent trip to Woods lake in France by some Scottish Carp Group members resulted in a very successful week with 160 Carp caught. Included in this was  1 x fifty and 10 x 40’s  and 33 x 30’s amongst the 5 anglers.

Scottish Carp Group membership Secretary Malky Mackay is shown here with a cracking 46

The Isla Nut bait was very heavily used and resulted in many fish being caught. There were also a few Catfish caught up to 101 pounds. Scottish Carp Group membership Secretary Malky Mackay is shown here with a cracking 46. Kenny Johnstone had a superb trip and had 5 x 40’s and many 30’s amongst his catch. Alan Johnstone is showing a lovely 40 Common caught on the Nut boilie, snowman style using the nut pop up.

Bradshaw Halls Fisheries - 20TH feb 2015

Lancashire Isla Baits fishermen: Mike Delves, Joe Delves, Ryan Hamer.

It started off as a bitterly cold day on the bank at Bradshaw hall fisheries but it was briskly warmed up by a nice mirror just as were setting up. It fell to Ryan’s rig which was baited with a drilled out Isla boilie, popped up around 1 inch off the bottom. It was quickly pictured and safely released and just as we started to settle down again Ryan’s right hand rod screamed off again! This time it was a feisty common which fell to the same tactic using the lethal Isla signature boilie. Just as we were pausing for breath after an amazing 30 minutes Yes you guessed it Ryan’s rod roared off again .. (3 carp in 45 minutes!)
