Lancashire Isla Baits fishermen: Mike Delves, Joe Delves, Ryan Hamer.

It started off as a bitterly cold day on the bank at Bradshaw hall fisheries but it was briskly warmed up by a nice mirror just as were setting up. It fell to Ryan’s rig which was baited with a drilled out Isla boilie, popped up around 1 inch off the bottom. It was quickly pictured and safely released and just as we started to settle down again Ryan’s right hand rod screamed off again! This time it was a feisty common which fell to the same tactic using the lethal Isla signature boilie. Just as we were pausing for breath after an amazing 30 minutes Yes you guessed it Ryan’s rod roared off again .. (3 carp in 45 minutes!)

As soon as the action had started the fish turned off completely. After an hour passed Dad and I sat wondering if that was it for the day and the possibility of blanking started to creep into view ..

Changing tactics we threw out a few Isla signature freebies and recast with PVA stringers.

It was not long after when Dad’s left hand rod screamed off and bent around nearly pulling the rod pod over and battle commenced. 10 minutes later and victory was ours and with a new PB for dad 25.5lb ….. Amazing!!

After celebrating with a few trophy photos we released the fish which we later found out was the lakes biggest!

The day could have ended right there to be honest and logged as one of our best days winter fishing but an hour or so later my rod roared into life and I got my new PB as well 22.5lb.

Winter fishing has never been so good…. Check out the ‘Isla signature’!
